Mr. Yul Chibuike Daniel Edochie A.k.a Yul Edochie is one of Nollywood fine actors from way back whose presence is still very much relevant in the entertainment till date.

Mr. Yul Edochie, is the last born son of famous and legendary Nollywood actor Pete Edochie. Although unlike the father who mostly featured in authoritarian roles, Yul the son, is kind of a mixture of everything. You name it: Playboy, dectective, hero, prince, romantic and what not. A multi talent  you can say.

About Yul Edochie

Born on 7th January 1982 in Lagos, Nigeria into a christian home. Although is originally from Anambra State. Yul is the sixth and last born son of a family of all boys ( 6 in number ).

Yul Edochie completed his primary school education in Enugu State in the south eastern part of Nigeria where he  obtained his First School Leaving Certificate and then furthered into secondary school but this time in Lagos State in the western part of Nigeria where he  obtained his West African Senior School Certificate. So we can say, he is a mixture of the East coast & West coast..smiles.

Well after completing his primary and secondary school education, Yul gained admission into the esteemed University of Port Harcourtad and his passion for acting, lead him into studying Theatre Arts.

And in 2003, he honourably graduated from the University of Port Harcourt with a bachelor Degree in Theatre Arts. Boom!

 

His Journey To Fame

After graduation, Yul Edochie completied  his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), and naturally joined the Nigeria movie industry, having prepared all through hiss schooling years for this moment. And  his professional acting career began in 2005 with first movie titled “The Exquires” starring alongside veteran actors Chidi Mokeme and Justice Esiri. The movie was a hit with several positive reviews from movie critics.

And then his glory came in 2007 after starring in the blockbuster movie titled “Wind of Glory”  the movie featured one of Nollywood's heavyweight actress Genevieve Nnaji. He later went on to win the award won for Best New Actor in 2009 at the City Peoples Entertainment Award and was nominated in 2011 for Best Actor of the Year at the City Peoples Entertainment Award too.

2010, Yul received the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Africa Movie Academy Awards for Most Accomplished Actor in Nigeria. And is often been described as one of the best acts of his generation. 

Aside  acting , this multi talented star is also a politician, business man, investor, and movie producer with several movies production to his name. Do you even know that in 2018 Yul Edochie contested for Governorship of Anambra State his home state?  Although he lost to Willie Obiano. And yet again in 2019 he aspired for the office Presidency in the Nigerian general election, but later changed his mind in support of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)  aspirant:  Atiku Abubakar. Yul Edochie was later appointed as SSA (  Senior Special Assistant ) to the Governor of Anambra State on Arts, Culture and Tourism.

One can correctly say that Yul Edochie's acting career has grown not only beyond the sphere of acting, but probably beyond what he expected. Like a saying, " the end point of the journey to destiny, is never disclosed to the hero ". All of the hard work and preparation, finally paid off. 

Today he  is ranked as one of the most expensive actors in Nigeria receiving acting fees of over a million Naira per movie wow!
